Since it’s still a time of “Social Distancing”, WUPS will go online on Friday, May 8th at 7:30 PM via Zoom (see www.zoom.us if you haven’t already downloaded it). If you are interested in joining us … either as a performer (up to 15) or as our audience … please email us at email@example.com indicating PERFORMER or AUDIENCE/performer and I’ll add you to the list to receive the Zoom link. We miss all our ukulele friends and hope some of you would like to join us so we’re not so lonely!
Ray Coulas was a gentle soul who loved uke jams and performances, and could always be counted on to help his friends. In fact, this website would never have existed except for Ray’s help in getting us started! We’ll miss his happy smile and detailed technical insights. Ray passed away suddenly this week (not due to coronavirus). Our hearts go out to his family and friends. We miss you already, Ray.

MORE INFO on this upcoming EVENTS
Our last WUPS was fun and interesting. An enthusiastic group of 18 – including a friend from Toronto who spent 3 hours on the road! – came out to participate in an evening of ukulele magic. Thanks once again to Lincoln for adding back-up bass. Also thanks to Kevin and subsequently Amir in the rhythm section. The performances were great, as were the play-alongs brought by Bob & Sue, Len & Jennifer, and May.
Check out the upcoming 5th Annual Midland (Ontario) Uke Fest, featuring Neal Chin and Del Rey among others. Your WUPS hosts, Bob & Sue, will be handling the hosting duties for the Midland Cultural Centre. Read more and purchase your tickets the Midland Uke Fest website
Welcome to the brand new WUPS website!
Our January 9th WUPS was very well attended with more than 25 people coming out (we were a bit squished even!). We had a line-up of 11 talented ukulele players/groups who entertained us with least two songs each. We welcomed several new players and their friends, and look forward to seeing all of our new and old friends again soon. Check out a few photos here
We had our regular Open Stage on the 5th, a WUPS/M@GG (Music @ Green Gables) leaders’ performance at the Seasonal Wang Dang Doodle on Algonquin Island in Toronto on the 8th, and then a blended WUPS/M@GG Holiday Pot Luck, Jam and Open Mic on the 19th. Thanks to all who attended and made these events memorable. Here’s a photo of from the Wang Dang Doodle!
